Hallo everyone! It’s time for our bi-annual shout out for any volunteers who are willing to help provide the safety and rescue and first aid cover for the BUCS White Water kayaking race at the river Washburn near Harrogate.
- 1-2 December 2012
- River Washburn, Blubberhouses, Near Harrogate
You get free tea (or coffee!), food and the chance to be generally heroic. There are lots of roles that we need to fill:
- Throwliners
- Chase boaters
- Live-baiters
- First-aiders
This is a great opportunity to practice your white water safety and rescue skills, get a bit of work experience, or just help out with a really fun and worthwhile event.
You don’t need formal qualifications. Experience or training in the techniques involved would be helpful, but isn’t a prerequisite. In return, you’ll get free tea, adoring looks, some thanks, some food and free cups of tea.
If you’re interested and willing, just call Will Sheaff on 07941 645 520, email will@wilderness-development.com, or come down on the 1st or 2nd December 2012 to the Washburn main drop with your kit from 8.30am onwards. We’d really appreciate it.
Thanks, Will
